David is a Costume Designer originally from Sydney, Australia.
He began developing skills in stagecrafts whilst studying production design for stage, screen and events. Furthering his skill-set, he has trained in fashion and costume manufacture.
Developing skills in corsetry, underpinnings and structures; he has a practical grounding in the manufacture of silhouettes and shapes of fashions past, which are the fundamentals of costume.
Sampling garments from the 14th century to present day, this training has strengthened his skills and understanding of costume history, costume-making, fabrics, durability, and costume design.
With diverse skills, he has worked acrosss the industry in film, theatre, fashion, music and workroom.
He has an understanding of the costume design process from work-room to screen; through to maintaining the integrity of costume design on-set, and the day to day responsibilities of a costume department.
A versatile costumer; he can sew and repair costumes on-set, has a strong eye for dressing and styling, and moves easily between on-set to assistant and workroom fittings.
He has worked at fashion week in Rome, London and Amsterdam and as an additional costume assistant for the A-list including Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, New Kids On The Block and the Backstreet Boys.
As a Stylist, David brings his background in costume through into fashion. He enjoys telling stories using contempoary fashion and design as a tool to express character, beauty and lifestyle.
